Our story started with Shaune moving to another state the DAY after our first date, long distance friendship, quickly turned into best-friend-level doing-life-together, and somehow grew into this beautiful little world filled with love, laughter, big dreams, home projects, two very spoiled dogs that take up entirely too much space on the bed, and Sunday mornings that usually involve coffee and talking about the future.

We know a huge part of our story will always include our sweet girl, Kira, who taught us so much about unconditional love and caring deeply for someone. She changed our hearts forever and will always be part of this family.

Like a lot of people, we thought we had a plan for how life would go. We graduated college, built careers, bought a home, created a life we loved together, and always assumed becoming parents would happen somewhere naturally along the way.

Instead, our journey into parenthood looked a little different than we expected.

There were seasons that stretched us deeply — seasons of waiting, healing, hoping, and learning to hold gratitude and heartbreak at the same time. But even in those moments, we kept building a life we genuinely loved together while hoping that one day our little one would join our adventure.

After our first IVF round ended without the outcome we had hoped for, this journey became even more emotional. By the time we began another round and learned we had only one viable embryo, it honestly felt hard to let ourselves fully believe things would work out. Protecting our hearts had become a little easier than holding onto hope. And yet, here he is.

Sometimes it still feels surreal that the child we dreamed of for so long is the same tiny embryo that gave us our chance at becoming parents. Now somehow, after all the waiting, this little boy is almost here.

These days look a lot like nursery projects, tiny clothes & diapers that still need to be organized, feeling kicks that still don’t feel real, and reminding Harper & Bear that they may soon have to share some attention (they’re going to struggle). Mostly, though, this season feels incredibly special because we know just how deeply wanted and already loved this little boy is.

We already find ourselves dreaming about the little things — future hikes in the mountains, Saturday mornings as a family, teaching him to love nature, showing him the importance of kindness and hard work, and hopefully raising a good, grounded human who feels deeply loved every step of the way.

Thank you for loving us through every chapter and for celebrating this next one alongside us. We cannot wait to introduce baby Reynolds to the world 💛
